The Gorge out in eastern Washington is one of my happy places. The view, the sunsets, the desert magic. This year I hit the road again to cover the Sasquatch! Music Festival for Seattle Met.Read More
Another year of the Sasquatch! Music Festival raged through the Gorge Amphitheater over Memorial Day Weekend. I photographed both live performances and took the time out to shoot artist portraits, and you can see both full galleries on Seattle Met: Behind the Scenes with the Artists of Sasquatch! Festival 2015 and Sasquatch! Music Festival 2015 Photo Recap.
Here are some of my highlights from the fest, as well as bonus images that didn't fit in the Met's galleries.
Four festivals. Over 160 performances of all sizes and genres. As another year comes to a close it's time to look back on all of the shows and coverage that brought me joy, lack of sleep and whiskey. 2013 was a beast for music.
A giant thank you to the following individuals who have had me shoot for their publications and allowed me to continue living out my passion. I truly love this job - there is no greater buzz for me than when the lights dim and the first notes begin to bounce among a crowd.
Keegan Prosser - Music Writer, Lindsey Bluher - Music Writer, Mark Baumgarten - Seattle Weekly, Jim Beckmann at KEXP, Shelby Case - Clear Channel Media + Entertainment for iheartradio's Jingle Ball, Chris Burlingame - Another Rainy Saturday, Morgen Schuler & Julia Wayne - Inside Right Wrist, SSG Music and last but defintley not least Kayte Olsufka formerly on the Neumos/Barboza crew.
A major shout out to my fellow photographers I see in the pits, the finest Seattle and the music industry has to offer. Thank you for the sanity, laughter and inspiration - you all rule.
And now, onto the big show, with links to the photos and reviews as available.

Death Cab For Cutie performing 'Transatlanticism'
Summer signed out with a bang at Bumbershoot Music & Arts Festival over Labor Day weekend. I was out again for the Seattle Weekly weaving below the Space Needle catching some of my favorite acts as well as falling in love with new ones.
My personal highlight was Death Cab For Cutie playing their album Transatlanticism track by track to help celebrate it's 10th Anniversary as well as Barsuk Records 15th. In 2002 I attended Bumbershoot and walked into Key Arena as Death Cab was playing 'Photobooth', which ended up being my introduction to the band. Eleven years later I was in the photo pit of the same arena at the same festival shooting them live for the first time as they performed an album that now holds a special place in my heart. Much to my delight they played 'Photobooth' in the second half of their set, a moment that reminded me the crazy road my trusty camera has taken me down and leaving me excited to see what's next to come.
Thanks again Bumbershoot, you were a blast!
Another confetti filled year of the Capitol Hill Block Party has come to pass, and I was stoked to photograph two days of the colorful festival on Pike Street for Another Rainy Saturday. Friday was filled with massive dance parties courtesy of Dillon Francis and Girl Talk, while Sunday was topped off with a heart pumping set from Scotland's Frightened Rabbit and an obscurely delightful experience with the Flaming Lips.
Here are a few of my picks from Telekinesis!, Danny Brown, Dillon Francis, STRFKR, Girl Talk, Hey Marseilles, Cults, Frightened Rabbit, and The Flaming Lips.
