Year In Music: 2013

AmberZbitnoffPhotography_Music2013_3 Four festivals. Over 160 performances of all sizes and genres.  As another year comes to a close it's time to look back on all of the shows and coverage that brought  me joy, lack of sleep and whiskey. 2013 was a beast for music.

A giant thank you to the following individuals who have had me shoot for their publications and allowed me to continue living out my passion. I truly love this job - there is no greater buzz for me than when the lights dim and the first notes begin to bounce among a crowd.

Keegan Prosser - Music Writer, Lindsey Bluher - Music Writer, Mark Baumgarten - Seattle Weekly, Jim Beckmann at KEXP, Shelby Case - Clear Channel Media + Entertainment for iheartradio's Jingle Ball, Chris Burlingame - Another Rainy Saturday, Morgen Schuler & Julia Wayne - Inside Right Wrist, SSG Music and last but defintley not least Kayte Olsufka formerly on the Neumos/Barboza crew.

A major shout out to my fellow photographers I see in the pits, the finest Seattle and the music industry has to offer. Thank you for the sanity, laughter and inspiration - you all rule.

And now, onto the big show, with links to the photos and reviews as available.

Here's to 2014: May we all continue to enjoy the melodies of life. If you're a publication, outlet or band and would like me to shoot for you please contact me at - let's party.

Jayme & John: Kiana Lodge

As predicted from their engagement session I did not escape Jayme and John's wedding without tears. They were married on a quiet September morning at the lush Kiana Lodge in Poulsbo, WA. Between the pastor's emphasize on how patience pays off while waiting for the right person and the huge smiles that never left their faces, it was evident that their love story was one for the books. It's relaxed easy flowing weddings like these fill my romantic heart to the brim.

Shout out to Jenny Linquist for coming out as my second shooter, a few of images above are her handy work.

Jordan Klassen: Polaroid Series

Seattle, WA

I've been using the gorgeous Impossible Film for a project I'm working on with musicians recently and decided to give a camera that I dubbed 'The Bat' (a Polaroid SX-70 Sonar) a spin during a session with Jordan Klassen. The beautiful and tragic thing about old cameras that they are unpredictable; 'The Bat' worked correctly for one photo and then decided to go off on it's own agenda after that. Thankfully it all turned out to be a happy accident and created this pretty little series.

Keep your eyes open for more on my polaroid series as it develops over the next few months.

Jayme & John: Kiana Lodge (Peek)

Yesterday during the 'First Look' John started praying with Jayme, and I had to fight back tears and keep shooting. Usually during a wedding I have to gather myself at least once, and tender moments like these kill me. This is why I love what I do.

I'm currently getting caught up on weddings, sessions, and music, so keep your eyes peeled for a bunch or new work coming out in the next month!
