Sasquatch! is a four day music festival held in Eastern Washington every Memorial Day weekend. With the Columbia Gorge as a breath taking backdrop this beast hosts over 100 bands in 4 days, bringing thousands of campers to the barren beautiful paradise. I was thrilled to cover this beloved festival for the Seattle Weekly, experiencing my 5th Sasquatch with fresh eyes and ears in the photo pits. Keegan Prosser was my awesome writer partner-in-crime, whipping out reviews of the sights and sounds of the long "weekend".
The performers aren't the only show at the Gorge - the crowd that comes out is incredible. The costumes (Batman to a Sasquatch), face paint and short-shorts, fur and onesies (a nod to local heros Macklemoe & Ryan Lewis) and fabulous pacific northwest festival fashion provide some of the best people watching around. If you're not getting a little weird at a music festival, you're doing it wrong.
You can view my previous JAPANDROIDS blog here from their Sasquatch set, and see additional photos including The Postal Service and The Lumineers on Seattle Weekly's "Scenes from Sasquatch!" gallery.
Thank you again Sasquatch; I cannot wait to return to my musical Disney Land next year!
