C + T // West Seattle

Christine and Tim decided to use their adorable West Seattle home for their engagement session. While their cats remained mostly stealth during our time, Christine’s laughter and Tim’s jovial spirit filled the house. Style wise they said they compromised at times while decorating their place, and then even created a new paint color by mixing two tones together.

When I asked if they had a moment when they knew it was "game on" with the other, when they knew they had found "the one", they both took a minute to think. Tim said that for him it was when he realized that the house they had bought was only home because Christine was there. It wasn't the things in it, or the location- it was her. And isn't that just what love is all about?

Whidbey Island // Wedding

One of the perks of having a large Seattle Wedding Photographer community is that I get the opportunity to second shoot for many of my friends during peak season. Last May I trekked out to Fireseed Catering on Whidbey Island with the lovely Jenny Linquist  and had a ball photographing these two lovebirds. Give me some trees + dancing light and I'm a happy camper!

Elektra's Home Session // Edmonds

Back in November Elektra had me photograph her and her two adorable boys at their bright home in Edmonds as a secret Christmas present to her husband Michael. Michael, along with her father-in-law, had remodeled the whole house which used to be an old folks living facility. It turned out gorgeous and I had so much fun snapping the little kiddos. Impromptu dance parties in the kitchen are always encouraged.

Brittany + Gerrit // Melrose Market Studios

“Love is the desire to give, accompanied by the ability to receive.”

- Gerrit quoting his aunt during toasts

Gerrit and Brittany were married on a perfectly Seattle grey January day at Melrose Market Studios. “This is so them,” I heard their guests repeat throughout the wedding. The wedding program was a zine documenting their relationship and wedding party. Their playlist during dinner was exclusively songs from bands whose shows that they went to together. They had a first dance song so obscure that I couldn’t find it online. (Music enthusiasts: it was Everything But The Girl’s unreleased demo cover of Big Star’s “Thirteen”). It was sweet, relaxed, and personal. Thanks for taking me along for the ride, and for having a killer playlist all day that included The National, Death Cab For Cutie, and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
